How to Get Involved

CUPE5524 is built by its members. Whether you have a few minutes to start a conversation, want to attend a meeting, or are ready to take on a leadership role, there are many ways to take part in your union.

☞ Talk

Talk with your fellow workers about the issues that matter to you. Sharing questions, concerns, and experiences helps members understand what is happening across the workplace and strengthens the collective voice of the union.

☞ Meet

Attend General Membership Meetings (GMMs) and other union meetings. These are opportunities to hear updates, ask questions, take part in discussions, and have a voice in decisions that affect the membership.

☞ Join

Get involved with a committee or the CATs. Committees give members the opportunity to contribute their skills, ideas, and perspectives to specific areas of the union’s work.

☞ Lead

Members can also take on elected leadership roles as stewards or officers. These positions help represent members, support workplace advocacy, and shape the direction of the local.
